Way too many years ago for us to discuss, the idea for postmarc was born. Our founder, Marc Canseco Hernandez, was working as an architect for a large corporate retailer. Like many road warriors, his carry-on duffel took him around the globe for weeks at a time. And as a dedicated cross-fit athlete, he was always looking for stylish additions to his wardrobe that could match his stride from workplace to workout to airport.
When Marc decided that ‘home’ should mean more than a suitcase, he dropped anchor in a small whaling village at the tip of Cape Cod. As a favorite holiday spot became a place of residence (at least for the warm weather months), Marc found that his sketches on napkins were gradually shifting from structures to stitches.
He partnered with a local retailer to talk with men – and the women who sometimes shop for them – about what they want to wear and how they want those garments to perform. Weaving that input into his own technical and design aesthetic, Marc and a small postmarc team brought our first small collection of lightweight combed cotton sweaters to retail shelves in Fall 2012.
Over the next few seasons, the postmarc brand expanded to include an assortment of polos, knit and woven shirts, shorts and accessories. Today, specialty menswear retailers in more than a dozen states and a growing online business bring postmarc clothing and products to men of style across the U.S. and around the world.
Each item in the postmarc collection has been inspired by someone, some place, or some experience during our travels. It’s only right that we dedicate the craftsmanship, innovation, quality and timeless style of our products to adventure … and to adventurers. We hope you love what we're creating for you!
